With the raising of the Flag early this morning to symbolize
the day the United States was attacked by terrorists and
with a moment of silence to remember the violation we
suffered and the loved ones we lost the Alabama Veterans
Museum & Archives began the day to honor our first
responders.
Lunch was provided for the City Police, Fire Department and
the Sheriffs Officers at the museum where there were a large
gathering of our own daily heroes assisting with the
approximately 140 meals.
Also attending today's service to thank and honor our civil
servants were Limestone County Commission Chairman David
Seibert, Athens Mayor Dan Williams and U.S. Rep. Parker
Griffith.
Our many thanks to all who serve and protect this wonderful
country we take such pride to live in.
