We Interrupt This Program...Pearl Harbor Remembered
Mr. Gil Crutchfield of Tanner, Alabama, a soldier in the 25th
Division “Wolfhounds”, was near Pearl Harbor early morning
December 7, 1941 when he heard loud explosions and saw black
clouds rising over the harbor.
The 25th Division, “Wolfhounds” participated in what was the
first American action of WWII when the Japanese attacked
Hawaii’s Pearl Harbor.
Gil Crutchfield was in the eye of the storm on the “date that
will live in infamy.”
Sunday December, 6th Mr. Crutchfield will be the guest of honor
in a live docudrama to remember Pearl Harbor. The tribute, We interrupt
This Program… Pearl Harbor Remembered, will be performed at the
Athens Senior Center on Pryor Street at 2:00 PM.
Tickets to the event are $5.00 and will be on sale to Veterans
at the Veterans Museum on November 11th and will be available to
the public on November 12th as long as they last. Tickets may
also be purchased at Pablo’s On Market, Limestone Drugs, the
Senior Center and at the Alabama Veterans Museum.
We also will raffle 'Day of Infamy' an 18x24 original oil painting on canvas
donated by local artist Lisa Milby. Tickets for the painting
