Chamber of Commerce recognizes Jim Patteson with the ‘08 Tourism Award

The Tourism Award went to Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives volunteer archivist Jim Patteson.

Patteson, who has been a Veterans Museum volunteer since 2001, has been involved in tourism promotion for a dozen years. Patteson also has been a volunteer for the Burritt Museum in Huntsville and has given basket weaving demonstrations as well as playing Santa for several organizations.

Chamber Tourism Director Jeannette Dunnavant said in announcing Patteson’s award that he also travels to Montgomery and Washington in search of funding for the museum and attends many state and regional tourism conferences and workshops to promote the museum.
